The Calon Lan Society is proud to be an active host of community events and concerts, often these will be loosely connected around the History or cultural heritage of the famous Welsh Anthem. After every event there will be an article written to summarise for those who were unable to attend. Please find below a list of events that we will be organising to raise awareness and money for the continued work of our society.

Unveiling of Gwyrosydd Monument

We are very excited to announce that on the 100th Centenary since the death of Daniel James Gwyrosydd we will be unveiling a stone monument in honour of him outside the Kings Head Pub.

Poems and Pints

10th July 7pm, at the Kings Head, 

After the successful launch of our first Society event 'Poems and Pints' many people were asking when the next event will be. In order to keep up with demand we decided to make this an annual function. The evening will be ran in the same style years past with people having the opportunity to do a recital of their favourite poem, short story or song. Last year a few braver attendees wrote their own poems to read. Of course it is important to remember that there is no expectation for anyone to read a poem.
